Aerohead | Synergy | Glider | Triple-V

The Aerohead is a lightweight, high-performance 650b rim ideal for brevets, randonneuring and other light duty riding. While the Aerohead builds a plush riding wheel, it will not handle the abuse of stronger rims, such as the Synergy or Glider. I personally do not ride the Aerohead, since I am a heavy and abusive rider, but many lighter and gentler rider absolutely love the Aerohead rim.

The CTA 650b Aerohead rim has been a result of discussions on the 650b Mailing List. Here is a link to archives with some of the threads about this rim and check the archives for discussions on light weight, high performance 650b wheels.

The Aerohead is also available as in an assymetric profile, the Aerohead OC. With an offset V-profile, this rim allows more even spoke tension and in some cases allows the rear wheel to be built with zero dish even when using a 10spd rear hub.

Aerohead rims also available in high polish finish.

The Synergy is a sturdy, lightweight cross-country rim built from a tough box section with eyelets. The rear Synergy OC with an offset profile allows more even spoke tension and in some cases allows the wheel to be built with zero dish even when using a 10spd rear hub.

Synergy rims also available in high polish finish.

650b Glider Specs       BSD - 584mm       530gr       ERD - 577mm

The Glider is high quality 26mm wide single wall rim. Traditional profile with flat top and generous sidewall for braking, makes it the perfect rim for restoring vintage roadsters or for 700c to 650b conversions on a budget.

650b Specs       BSD - 584mm       600gr       ERD - 571mm

The Triple-V is a budget 650b rim that is not short on durability. This 26mm wide single wall rim with a V-profile is one tough customer. This is the rim that has been used on 'The Chocolate Croissant' and after 6000klms and 3 serious crashes, one of which bent the rear triangle of the bike, the wheels are virtually as straight and true as the day I built them. This rim may be cheap, may be single wall, but one thing it isn't, flimsy.
